For our Anniversary, my cute Mom took the boys for the day while I stayed home and cleaned the house while Ev was working. When he got home, we went out to dinner at Made in Brazil. It was so goood. We ate so much we had no room for dessert! We were suppose to go and get a hot stone massage, but they couldn't get us in. I even told them it was our Anniversary! but that didn't work... So we are going to try and go another day. After dinner we went and picked up the boys then went home, got them to bed and then snuggled on the couch and watched the voice ha. It was a good anniversary. Love you Babe;)

I can't believe how fast this week flew by.

A few things we did last week..

We were able to get a lot of "spring cleaning/de-junking" done. It felt so good! We went through all of our clothes, the boys clothes, books, toys, food, etc and got rid of the things we weren't using. We also were able to sell some things on ksl!

The weather has been soooo nice so we took the boys on a walk to the grocery store.

Jovi is getting so big! He has started pulling himself up onto things.

I seriously can't believe its been 3 years. That's just crazy! It's gone by so fast but at the same time I feel like we have accomplished a lot of things in just 3 years. If that makes sense.

I am so excited!!! Me and my Mom started preparations for our gardens!

Last week we took a trip to get some compose/poop ha to lay in our garden beds. We had to shovel all of it out of the trailer and bring it to the backyard. This processes took about 3 hours! The next couple days my back and arms were pretty sore from shoveling. I guess I used muscles I haven't for a while.

It was a fun day hanging out with my family. Everyone took a turn helping shovel out the poop! Even my little Sisters helped. While we were shoveling, me and my little brother made up a song about shoveling poop. haha It was pretty funny. I won't share it with you... I can't wait until we can start planting!

Random things that happened last week.

My little Brother found my long lost ipod touch. yay!!! Thanks brother!

Nixon started calling me Tayli... and he still calls Evan Babe. I have too keep reminding him, I'm Mommy!.

We went out to eat with some friends and family for my BIL birthday.

We had a good rain storm!

Jovi finally loves his baths and splashes like crazy! I pretty much get a shower when I bath him.

Went on a fun date with my sugar muffin;)to Homedepot, cafe rio (got a free meal!) and then baskin robbins mmmmm.

Started some "spring cleaning"

Got some ideas for fun posts this week for the design blog.

Got a new calling! We are now in charge of teaching family history. We are so excited! We have been wanting to learn how to do it, so now this will help us learn!

Evan figured out what he wants to be when he grows up;).... He is going to go into Architecture! We are both so excited about his decision.

Last night me and Hubs got to go out on a date! My little sis, Kylie watched the boys for us while we went to dinner and a movie. It was fun to get out and spend time together. We split a delicious sandwich from kneaders then went to see Sherlock Holmes 2. It was good, I liked it. We had a fun night together:) It was also fun to get back home and see the boys. They were so excited to see us! Thanks again Kye Kye for watching them for us:-)

Essential Oils

Ever since we were little, my Mom has used essential oils on us. And now I use them on my kiddos. I love using them. They smell so good. It's funny when I smell certain oils it reminds me a different memories in my childhood.
So Mr. Jovi has been so stuffy lately, so I started putting an oil on him call breezy and It has help clear him up. Plus it smells so good!

Lately, I feel like this should be my theme song... Except for the part where she's wondering when will her life begin. ha

Jovi will be 7 months on the 18th! He weights 19 lbs now. Only 3 lbs less then Nixon! He is catching up!

He can almost sit on his own.

The other day I was making dinner and Nixon comes running into me laughing and saying, "belly funny!" I turn to look at him and this is what I see! Oh don't worry it's only PERMANENT marker no biggy:/ Oh my. I personally didn't think it was that funny. He then ran and hid under the chair because he knew he was in trouble!

Monday night, we made homemade pizza, it turned out so delicious! We will definitely be making it again sometime.

Christmas Eve Dinner.

We had Christmas Eve dinner over and Grandmas and Grandpa Mayhews this year. It was so yummy! We each got to choose our favorite dinner sides for the meal so everyone was happy! ha. It turned out fabulous! Grandmas dinners always turn out so yummy!

After dinner we did the Nativity. The little kids dressed up and my Dad read the story of baby Jesus. This year little Jojo was baby Jesus.

After the Nativity story we opened our Christmas Eve PJ's (Our family tradition)

Christmas this year didn't turn out quite as planned.....

Poor Nixon woke up sick Christmas morning and then the next morning Ev, Me and Jojo woke up sick too. So we were all sick!! It was horrible:( We were suppose to go over to my Family's Christmas morning but ended up just staying home with Nixon.

Luckily, Nixon started feeling a little better in the afternoon so he was able to open his presents and somewhat enjoy them. Poor little guy. On a good note, Jovi had fun! He scooted around and played with all the toys and wrapping paper.

For Christmas Ev's Mom made the boys this TP! It was the best Christmas present ever! When Ev was little his Mom made them Tp's just like this one and he remembered having a lot of fun in it. So he asked his Mom if she could make one for the boys for Christmas this year. Nixon loves it! He likes to run in and out of it. It's cute to watch him get so excited. I'm not sure who was more excited about it Ev or Nixon... ha

Evan got me some tools for Christmas! ha I'm so excited! They will be so nice for all the projects I do.

Uncle Aric got Nixon a rocking horse/lion for Christmas. He rocks on it and says, "eeee ha!" Thanks Uncle Arwic!

Our adventure & boys update

Our adventure.

On Sunday, we took a drive to Enterprise to go visit a couple Evan knew from his mission. It was about a 45 min drive from our house. It was a fun little road trip! They boys were so good and took a nap on the drive up. It was sooo pretty!

To get to the couples house, we had to put the car into four wheel drive and drive down this muddy dirt road. After a lot of bumps and a car covered in mud we made it to their house.

They both are hunters so they had a lot of animal heads on their walls. Nixon was so fascinated by them. Most of them they hunted in South Africa! So cool.

This one was my favorite. Look at the awesome antlers! Amazing.

Jovi Povi's update

-Jojo is now 6 months old.

-He scoots all over the house.

-Has a huge smile and smiles at everyone.

-He has a cute personality and laughs at everything. Especially Nixon.

-He likes rice cereal with bananas.

-He doesn't really like his baths.

-He is starting to say dadada and babbles a lot.

-He knows who is mommy and daddy are.

-He gets so excited with Evan comes home.

-He has 3 naps during the day.

Mr. Nixon's update

-Nix is now 20 months old.

-He will no longer sit in his highchair so I have him sitting in a booster seat at the table. But he prefers to sit on our laps.

-He is getting really good a talking and knows sentences now. (on Sunday at church he said, "I wuv ew Jesus!" I was the cutest thing ever!)

-Evan is no longer Daddy to Nixon... He is Babe. He will go around the house and say, "Baaabe where are eww?"

-When I hold him he pats my back and rubs it. haha I love it!

-Some of his favorite snacks are; pretzels, string cheese, fisheys, peanut butter nutella pancakes, yogurt, grape nut flakes cereal and of course candy and chocolate!

-Lately his favorite movies are Elmo, Shrek and Tangled.

-He is really good at saying, please, thank you and just started saying, welcome! when I tell him thank you.

-He is doing pretty good with going in his potty. I'm going to get some disposable clothe diapers to help get him use to the idea of wearing underwear.

-He LOVES his blankey and almost has a melt down if jovi tries to grab at it. Oh my..

-He loves to sing.

-He loves story time with Mommy or Daddy.

Live More Simple

So our washer broke this week:/ Perfect timing with Christmas right around the corner. Oh well.

Evan and I were watching No Impact Man last night and were VERY inspired. Lately we have been trying to cut back on things, eat more healthy, get up earlier, watch less TV and do more family activities. That's part of the reason we started our design blog so that we could work on projects together. After watching this documentary we were more inspired to keep improving our lives and take it a step further to Live More Simple and be less wasteful. That's going to be our family motto.

So this week instead of taking our clothes to the laundry mat. We washed our clothes in the bathtub. It was actually a lot of fun. Nix and I danced and splashed around on the clothes. He loved it!

When I went to Italy to Nanny, I learned how to live a more "simple" life and really enjoyed it. I would wash my clothes and then hang them out to dry. Every Tuesday and Thursday they had a farmers market that I would "walk" to and buy fresh produce. Mmmm. I walked everywhere and took a bus or train. The food was so amazing and very simple. On their salads all they use is olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The food is so fresh with less preservatives. On a side note, the gelato is out of this world! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. So to get to the point, I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to go over there to learn and grow. It was a real eye opening experience and I learned things that I am now applying to my own Family.

Evan's job was to wring out all of the clothes.

Nixon then put all of the clothes in the dryer.

Coupons.

A couple months ago my Mom and Sister went over to my Mom's friends' house to learn how to coupon. I had heard about it for quite sometime but never really looked into it. I remember my SIL doing it a couple years ago and she seemed to like it. After watching Extreme Couponing I thought I would give it a try. I'm just so amazed at all the money the ladies save with couponing. It's crazy all the free stuff they get too. I don't think I will ever get that extreme but it's been nice saving a little money here and there. My mom and Sister is a lot better at it then I am. I'm still trying to get the swing of it. It's been 2 months since we learned about it and I just got my coupon book organized! Hey I think I'm doing pretty good.

Nixon likes to sit on Jovi and pretend that he is his horse. He says, "Itty up!"

I love this.

Sometimes when Ev is playing the piano, Nix will go sit next to him and play and sing with him. It's sooo cute.

So this week we will be attempting the toddler bed... I'm ready for Jovi to start sleeping in the crib so I'm having to kick Nix out. Which I'm not really ready to do... but I want them to start getting use to sleeping in the same room so we will see how it goes.

Letters to Santa.
Today we wrote letters to Santa with the Boys. Nixon had fun coloring on the letter and Jovi had fun eating it!

Last week we had fun playing in all the leaves at my parents house. When I was little me and my Sisters love to play in the leaves! We would rake paths and then make big piles and jump into them. Good memories

Nixon went potty today!!! I was so surprised! I was changing his dipe and he kept trying to get away. He was saying, "pee pee, pee pee!" So I let him go and he ran to his potty and went! We were so excited! And so was Nixon!

My cute cousin sent us a Nixon fanny pack in the mail the other day. Thanks Tare Tare for the awesome fanny pack! You are so sweet:) I will totally rock it haha.

Thanksgiving activity

Last week we did a Thanksgiving activity with the kids. Nixon thought it was funny when I painted on his hand and Jovi hated it! ha.

So the other day I put Nix in the bath and went back to check on him and found Mr. blanky in the bath with him! A couple days later he insisted on having blanky bath with him again... he was in tears and kept getting out of the bath because he wanted his blanky in the bath. Oh my Nixon.. I'm hoping he grows out of this one quick. Either no more baths or no more blanky!

la la la la, la la la la, Elmo's World

Lately... this little boy LOVES Elmo. The first thing he says when he wakes up is, "I wan Elmo!" and then I will say, "How do you ask?" and he says, "Peeeease!" I'm not sure what it is about that little red monster.. but kids love him! Remember that whole tickle me Elmo event? People go crazy over him.

Juicing

As most of you know, I have a very picky little eater! He will not eat any kind of veggie. So I have been thinking that I need to try juicing. We love the Naked juice and have been drinking that a lot lately so I decided to try making my own. It turned out pretty good. I made a all fruit one first and it was delicious! Then I added some vggies and put too much broccoli in which made it pretty gross:p. So If you ever juice I would suggest you put in very little broccoli.

It was fun seeing all the different kinds of juice each fruit and veggie made. Even bananas produce juice but very little. Apples and carrots produced the most juice. The strawbarry fruit was my favorite!

My little Jo Jo bug
Jovi turned 4 months on the 18th. It's funny because I feel like he should be older then 4 months! He's such a happy smiley baby boy. He loves to laugh! I love it, He has the perfect baby doll laugh. Nixon is always good at getting him to laugh.
Jovi is rolling around all over the place now and grabbing at toys. He weighs 16 pounds and is 26 1/4 long. When Nix was his age he weighed 13.36 pounds and was 25.2 inches long. So Jovi is a lot bigger then he was. I have a feeling Jovi might catch up to Nixon. I already had someone ask me if they were twins..... It was pretty strange.

We love you so much Jovi Povi! haha (he has alot of nick-names) Jovi Povi, Jo Jo, the Jovster and Jo Jee. We are so blessed to have you in our little family!!! Thanks for putting a smile on our face everyday! Love Love Love you! muah! :-@!!

On the 20th Nixon turned 18 months! He is at

such a fun age!! He communicates what he

wants very well. He is such a smart little boy!

He can already count to 10 (minus the 4) and

attempts the ABC's. Today when I put his break-

fast on his highchair he said a quick little pray

without me even initiating it. It was so cute!

The only part I could understand was,

AMEN! It was a bunch of babbling then AMEN!

Evan's little brother, Eston recently got back from serving a mission in Australia. So last weekend we took a trip up to SL to go see him! We had a fun weekend and It was fun to get to see him. It didn't take long for Eston to become Nixon's buddy. He loves him:)

We had a pretty enjoyable trip with very little screaming and crying (thanks to Yo Gabba Gabba) It seems like the last hour is always the hardest. The boys start to get pretty restless and just want out of their car seats!! I don't blame them.

We took Bindi trick or treating with us. All the kids loved her and

kept coming up to pet the BIG puppy.

Nixon loved trick or treating! He loved that everyone kept giving him candy! He always had to have a couple pieces in each hand! If i tried to put them in his bag he would get mad and scream because he thought he wouldnt get it back.

Pumpkins and the Zoo

Last weekend we went up to salt Lake to visit with Family and Friends. We had a lot of fun! On Friday Ev and I went and browsed around Ikea with the boys. We love going there to get ideas for our home. When we lived in Salt Lake we use to go there for our date nights ha. Friday night we went over to Evan's mission Presidents house for dinner. Sister Hacking is a VERY good cook! It was fun to visit with them. Saturday morning I took some family pictures for a friend and then after we went to a pumpkin patch. Later that day, after Nixon's nap, we went to the zoo with Ev's Family and our good friends The Boyers! They have twins a day older then Nixon so It's always fun gettting together with them. We miss them. After the Zoo we went to eat at Red Robin. It was quite an experience.. We had to ask for 3 high chairs and one car seat sling. I don't blame them for putting us in the back room ha. After we ate, we closed the doors to the room and let the kids run around and play. I think they had more fun at the restaurant then the Zoo! Sunday we went to church with Ev's parents then I went and took family pictures for another friend, then we packed up and head home.

My Family just got a blue Great Dane. We were so excited to meet her! She is BEEEAUTIFUL! My all time favorite dog!!!

Nixon update & Halloween fun

WARNING a bunch of rambling about my Nixon and what he has been up to lately...

Nixon James, you are growing up too fast! I am so glad I started blogging when he was born. It's been fun to look back on and see what he was doing at Jovi's age. He is talking a lot now and makes us laugh everyday. He has such a cute sense of humor. He will hit himself on the head and say, "oohhh" as he falls to the ground haha. He also does a little dance where he puts this arms in the air and twists his wrist and sticks out his tongue. Pretty sure he learned his moves from his Daddy;) He calls his little brother JoJo and loves him so much:) He knows how to sign drink and food. He understands a few Italian phrases, aprire la bocca (open your mouth) qui (here) di piu (more) venire qui (come here). And when I say, baci! (kisses) he goes, "mmmm waa" and gives me a big kiss:) Some cute things he says... When he wants me to follow him he will say, "mon" and gestures his hand to follow him. When something falls or he throws something he says, "uh oh!" When he has a messy diaper he says, "ewww poo poo" When he wants something he says, " I wan some" And then I will say how do you ask? and he says, "peeeease" When ever I put a hat on him he says, "awwwww" haha he got that from me. If I say, Nixon where is _____? he will say, "I dun know" while shaking his head. Whenever he sees me or Ev putting on our shoes he says, "bye bye" and runs to the door. When he wants to go play outside he says, "side peeease" If I say, want to take a bath? He says "baaaaf" and runs to the bath tub. Often he tries to get in the bath with his clothes on! haha. He says Aric really well, "Arrwic" and Rylee, "Wyyylae" and Haiven. He says Mommy and Daddy very well. We have been teaching him how to pray and during conference when someone would say Jesus Christ in their talk he would say, "Amen!" haha so cute. He knows several animals and the sounds they make. Whenever he sees a dog on TV or in person he says, "woo woo". He knows where is eyes, nose, mouth, belly, toes, head and ears are. He has turned into quite the picky eater!:/ I have to distract him or try to make eating fun. I figured out one trick if I put the food on the end of a pretzel stick he usually does pretty good at eating. We love you so much Nixon boy!

Conference Weekend

I love conference weekends. When I was a wee one I remember I couldn't wait for conference to be over so I could go play.... Now I get kind of sad when it's over because I want to hear more!!

I also remember as a child we made a tent to watch conference in. So I thought it would be fun to make a tent this year for Nix. After I got done making the tent Nix got sooo excited and started running in and out of it screaming with excitement haaha it was so funny.

On Sunday we drove up to Kolob Mountain while we listened to the last session of conference with my family. When it was over we had a picnic up in the mountains by the lake. It was sooo gorgeous up there!!

On our way up we passed by this beaUtiful field. I just couldn't pass it up so I had my little brother Caleb snap some shots of us. Thanks Brother:) And thanks Husband for letting us take so many pictures all the time!;) I'm kind of a picture-holic.

Tuft Lovve

I LOVE tufted furniture!!! I saw a tufted light blue armless chair at Ross for only 86bucks the other day. I wanted it sooo bad! I went back the next day to look at it and it was Gonzo:( It was probably been that way because I really don't have a place for it. Or 86 bucks for a chair...

Ev and I discovered this website called Dwell.com. We LOVE it! it's our new favorite site. They have amazing modern homes on it. There is this one in New Zealand that we both fell in love with! We just bought a home Design program for our computer so we can start designing our future home. Haha this is what we like to do for fun. Ev likes the architecture side to it and I like the interior design part. Together we make a great team;) We subscribed to get the Dwell magazines. Can't wait for it to come! We are just "patiantly" waiting like little kids for our magazine to come! ha. It's like Christmas.

This isn't the chair from Ross, but I like this one too!

Nixon's Masterpiece!

The other day I set a sheet out on our porch and let Nixon go to town painting on a canvas. Haha he did a pretty good job at keeping the paint on just the canvas but then got bord of it and started painting his arm and legs! And then Mommy's legs... Haha He did a great job at it and his master piece is now hanging above our TV in our living room. I love you my little man! Muah:)

3 Months!

My little Jovi Povi is now 3 months old! He is so much fun and we love him soooo much! He is a very smiley baby, I love it! I think he has a crush on me because he's always smiling at me;) He giggles a lot now and is very ticklish. Nixon just loves him so much! The other day Jovi was playing on the floor and I hear Nixon over by him saying, Hiii! Hiii! and then he gave him a kiss on his head. It was so precious!! it just melted my heart!

Our back porch

We have been spending a lot of time on our back porch lately. The weather has been so nice! We did art lessons this week during a thunder storm on our porch! it was so much fun! Last night we ate a delicious dinner on our porch and this morning nix and I blew bubbles! It's been so nice to have a break from the blazing hot sun. Bring on the fall air!

So for dinner I made squash, asparagus, rice and Montreal seasoned chicken. I cooked the chicken in olive oil, dried onions and minced garlic. After I cooked the chicken I cooked the squash in the same pan. I seasoned both the chicken and squash with montreal steak seasoning. During all this I had the rice and asparagus cooking. It turned out really good and to top it off we had a tall glass of cran raspberry juice. Mmmm mmmm good!

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles

I think bubbles are so cool looking. Someday I'm going to do a painting of nixon blowing bubbles. I'm writing this on my blogs in hopes it will actually get done!

Rain, Rain, Rain, I love the rain!

It poured today in sunny St. George. I loved it! I love the smell, I love the thunder and the fresh feeling it brings! I just love it all.
