Mi Familia

Oh hi!  It's been ages since I wrote on this blog.  I keep going back and forth between blogs trying to decide what I want to do with them.  I haven't been doing as many projects lately on my design blog, so I have been posting a lot of family stuff on there.  Which is fine, but I am neglecting this blog which was meant to be my family blog.  Oh well, I'll figure it out one day.

Speaking of family, isn't family the best!  I seriously don't know what I would do without them.  I am so grateful for all of their love and support.  With them, I honestly feel on top of the world and that I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.  Lately I have been doing a lot of "soul searching" I guess you could say, and trying to figure out life and things I would like to accomplish.

Since I was about 14, I have had the dream of being able to help those in need and reach out to others all across the world.  I seriously wish I had millions of dollars I could just give away to people.  How awesome would that be?  Have you ever seen the Secrete Millionaire? Or Extreme Makeover?  I love watching shows like that.  I would love to be apart of something like that.  I do what little I can now and I hope it makes a difference. I'm not telling you this to toot my own horn, I'm only sharing it because it's an ambition of mine and has been on my mind a lot lately.

I had a friend go to Ecuador and help at the orphanage over there.  I would love to do something like that, but on the other hand, I'm sure it would break my heart and I would want to try and adopt them all and take them home with me!

My church, the LDS church, does a lot with humanitarian work that I have been trying to get involved in.   I recently was reading on one of their sites called LDS Philanthropies.  It is so awesome to see how many people are involved in trying to help improve others lives.  People from all over, and of other faiths and religions are also helping bring hope and joy into others lives.

Sorry if I'm starting to sound preachy,  that wasn't my intention, it's just something I am very passionate about.  Maybe one day I will be able to make a difference, but for now, I am going to keep doing what little I can.  Some people say it's the small things that can really make a difference in someone's life.

Well on a completely different note,  I just registered for school.  Yay!  Yep you heard that right, this Mama is going back to school. Back to school, back to school...  (See Billy Maddison for explanation).   I'm going to be taking English (gulp),  Sociology, Spanish (big gulps) and an Interior Design class. Evan is going to take Spanish too. He is the one that decided it would be good for us to learn another language.  I've been bias to Italian, since I nannied there and have been dying to take Evan backpacking over there,  but I guess we can learn Spanish for now but then back to learning Italian, no battle.

You probably also noticed that I am putting off math this semester...  I don't think my brain is ready for it. But I really am excited about school.  I know it's going to be crazy and my life is going to be busier than ever with homework, a husband also in school and two little boys running around, but I'm sure it will all work out.  Well here's to a new week.

So Blessed to be a Mamma

I'm so thankful for these two little handsome baby boys. I can't imagine life without them. In fact, I'm sure it would be probably very boring. There would be no tickle time, no changing diapers every 20 mins, no big bear snuggles, no sick boys throwing up all over Mamma, no messes to clean, no food all over the floor and no screaming in the grocery store. Believe it or not I would miss all of these things. Life is good and I'm oh so blessed.

It was so so nice of them to leave me this trail do that I could find them. So thoughtful:)

Do not go where the path may lead.  Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Pizza & Cake

Evan, (aka the handsome one) started a new job last week and has been working so hard lately. He is so good to us:)
Last night I thought it would be fun to surprise him and do something fun as a family.

While the boys napped I turned on some Feist and started preparations for dinner. I search through the kitchen cupboards and decided I wanted to make home made pizza with a fresh garden salad to go with it.

I hurried along because I only had an hour left before the boys would be up and Evan would be getting home shortly after that. I wanted it to be all ready before he got home. I decided it would be fun to have a picnic in the front room so I laid a big blanket out on the front room floor. Then the boys got up.

Nixon loves to help me in the kitchen he likes to be right in the middle of everything.  He found a cake box In one of the cupboards and started begging me to make it, "I wan birfday cake PLEASE!" he said repeatedly until I finally gave in and thought what the heck and we made the burfday cake. We also may or may not of danced in the kitchen while making it. Okay so we did.  Nixon thinks its a rule to dance whenever there is music playing.

Right before the handsome one got home I lit a candle just for fun and to help freshen up the air. The scent was Caribbean Salsa.  I love it.

He was so excited to see all of us when he got home, just as he always was:) We put on 101 Dalmatians and sat on the blanket in front of the TV for a nice enjoyable evening together.

How could you not love that handsome face?

Where is the pause button?

My little toe head energetic baby boy is growing up so fast!
These past couple of weeks we have been teaching Nixon how to pray.
It is so so cute to watch him kneel down and pray for everybody in the family, Gramma, Nana, Gwampas, Momma, Jovi, Daddy (or sometimes Babe.) really just depends on the night.  And then he will list some of his Aunts and Uncles.  Little moments like these I wish there was a pause button I could push.  Maybe that's why I love taking pictures so much? so that I can pause and capture ever moment I can to help me remember it.
This was him praying last night, it was just so cute I had to sneak a picture of him!

Yesterday was a good day.  My sweet family came over to spend the day with us.  The boys played in the pool while my cute Mother helped me fold laundry outside on the table and my little Sister, Kandi painted her nails on the porch.  It was too nice of a day to spend it inside.

Last night after I tucked all the boys in, (including Evan)  I started thinking that It's crazy how much Nixon looks up to us and how important it is for us to be good examples to him.  He mimics EVERYthing we say and do.  The good and the bad!  Sometimes he says things I have no idea where he got.  So we just correct him and say "no that's not a nice word", or "no we don't say that".  He is only 2 so I don't expect him to be perfect at it.  But I think it's good to still try and teach him now while he's young because  he really is a fast learner.  Anyways sorry I'm rambling now.  So what I think I'm trying to say is that I didn't realized how important it is to be a good example until I had kids.  It just makes me want to try a little harder to be a little better,  that's all.

Mothers Day & Life

Mothers Day.
Mothers Day was the best!  I got to spend it with the people I love!  My sweet Husband spoiled me for mothers day.  He love to spoil me:)  He's the best.  He cleaned the whole house for me and even did the dishes.  This isn't out of the norm though,  He is really good to help me keep the house tighty.  I love him for that.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Hubba lubba chubba!

Being a Momma really is the best.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  It is so rewarding and I feel so blessed to have such sweet little boys.  They are so dear to me!  Every moment with them I treasure.  I am always trying to capture these moments on camera so that I won't forget them, but usually the ones that I don't capture are the most dear to me.  I am so thankful for my life and for my family.  Life is good:-)

He made a Mothers day cake for me.  Yellow cake with chocolate frosting, only the best!  Isn't he so Handsome:)  I still have a secret crush on him,  Ok so it really isn't a secret, he knows I love him.

The whole lovely Fam.

This little boy cracks me up!  He is really quite the little entertainer.  I love all of the faces he pulls.  I can't believe he is going to be one next month! {Tear}

We went and check out the Rosenbruch Museum.  Nixon loved seeing all the different kinds of animals.  As we were leaving he had to say bye to each of them,  "bye bye sheep, bye cow, bye bye lion, bye bye fishys"  It was cute.

We also took the kids to the community pool.  Nixon loves that place.

Words can't express my love for this little boy!

There is a new post at this ol' blog

Almost Walking

Jovi is getting so close to walking!!!  He loves walking around with his walker, It's so cute watching him.  It will be so fun to have him walking so that he can keep up with his older brother.

Here's a little video I caught of him walking.  Nixon starts it off by saying, "ready, set, GO!"

The Water Park.
Earlier this week, my Sisters and I took the kids to the water park on main.  They love it there.  Jovi actually got in the water this time.  I was very proud of him;)

The Carousel.
I set Nix up on the horse and he got so scared! haha.  So I hopped on the back with him and he thought that was so much fun.

Bubbles!
We love bubbles at our house.  Both the boys go crazy chasing the bubbles a trying to pop them.

Out to Lunch.
My Uncle Gary was here this week. He spoiled us by taking us all out to lunch!  We had fun. Thanks again!

We were so excited to find out that there was cotton candy for dessert! Mmmm I love me some cotton candy! Nummy num num
